Overview

A short, concentrated engagement around the launch of BERC's groundbreaking PK-12 curriculum—three years of development, piloted in 120 classrooms across the five boroughs, funded by $8.35M from the NYC Council through the Education Equity Action Plan.

Context

The launch coordinated across BERC, Teachers College faculty and academic leadership, the NYC Chancellor's office, and city council. Digital touchpoints had to carry that weight—clearly, accessibly, and without losing editorial voice.

Approach

  1. 01

Led communications strategy and stakeholder coordination across BERC, faculty, and institutional leadership.

  2. 02

Redesigned content architecture and CMS workflows for the program's digital presence.

  3. 03

Aligned digital touchpoints with institutional priorities and accessibility standards for PK-12 educators and families.

Outcomes

  • Supported launch of the nation's first PK-12 Black Studies curriculum across all NYC Public Schools.
  • 247% increase in web traffic during launch window.
  • 300% growth in engagement.
